It’s been a weird few days since the end of the holiday hoopla. There has been the paper-pusher craziness that is currently resulting in me having a job offer but no job despite a start date of next week.

This morning I put on a pair of pants. 
Not just
any pair of pants, a pair of pants that are a size 6. 








This is a
big deal. 




See, a
while ago, I stopped wearing dress pants to work. I had a job that didn't need
dress pants... I wore leggings or skirts or dresses and sometimes jeans. 
I was
also gaining weight, even if I didn't' notice it.

I had my first day at a new job today. It is a contract
position with the option of extension and based on today, I would love to be
extended. 



The Good:

The commute: 20 min walk! Seriously!

The pay: I could pay off my debt and actually afford decent
insurance.

 The people: Met some
really great people today, they were professional and welcoming. In fact, you

I asked myself. 
Turns out, harder than I thought.
I know I am a bit behind the curve on learning to do some things. I was 27 before I did my own taxes. I was 28 before I made my first omelet. Seriously. I still haven’t managed to cook a turkey yet.
And I have never don the BBQing. 
Why would I? There has always been a dad or a boyfriend or a sister in law to do it for me.

She assured us that EQCA wouldn’t be making a demission regarding this issue until the fall. *(And yet….)
